Rafa confident

Liverpool must beat Marseille tomorrow or be forced to rely on Besiktas taking an unlikely point in Porto if they are to progress into the knockout stages of the Champions League. Rafa Benitez is confident his players can do the business.

"I don't think about losing. I only think about winning and I know how the team is," he said.

"Watching these players playing well, looking happy and confident - that gives me confidence. Everything was wrong when we lost to Marseille at home.

"Marseille didn't play for 10 days before the game, they just trained and prepared for the match with us. Now we must go to their stadium - but playing there won't be a problem.

"The problem before was that we put ourselves under too much pressure in the Champions League because we lost against Marseille at home.

"We were in a very bad situation and everyone was saying, 'Forget it. It's a disaster'. But now they say, 'Okay, maybe Liverpool can do it'. You know we have confidence. We can do it. We can beat Marseille and go through.

"For me the sporting achievement of that is more important than the money in the Champions League. The money is important but you want to win because you want to win more trophies.

"Liverpool must always think to win - and if you win trophies the money comes afterwards.

"I've always been confident we will get through. I always said we had to win our last three group games to get through.

"I am confident that the team's make-up is right and we can go there and win the match."
