The Liverpool boss believes he can help Steven Gerrard realise his Premiership dream in the near future.
"I think Steven can realise his ambitions here, I am sure. We are progressing, going in the right direction," said Benitez.
"He is very happy here. His commitment is 100 per cent. You could see this week in every training session he is committed. I think he will be here for a long time. I talk with him about ideas for the future. Steven knows some ideas that we have [about new players]. I can't explain every movement, but our scouts are working hard around the world.
"He wants to win the title, as do all the fans and everyone at the club. We share the same ambition.
"We won the Champions League once and then got to another final. That was very, very positive. And that's the reason why everyone is talking about us winning the Premier League.
"The question now is how we can improve in the league, and the only way to do that right now is to win games in a row.
"In the future we can think about how we can improve in the league overall."
