Liverpool face Portsmouth at Anfield today, a fixture they could only draw last season. Rafael Benitez believes that the roar of the Kop should inspire his players to pick up maximum points at home and he wants to see just that today.

Benitez said: "When you are manager of Liverpool, players and supporters we know we need to win and when we play at Anfield we must win against all teams.

"Our priority this season is to improve in the Premiership. We have a lot of happy players who want to play. The team has confidence having won our last three games and in football players always need to play.

"We have played three good games and we need to go with the same idea against Portsmouth and I think we will do it."
