"I am very excited about the new season. We are really happy with our situation, because the idea was always to secure the players who form the spine of our team on long-term contracts, and we have done that," said the Liverpool boss.
"They can form the spine of a great team. We have so much confidence in this team and we are hopeful we will soon bring in the new players that we want to make the squad even better.
"The idea has always been to build towards a challenge for the title, and we are putting into place the squad to do that.
"We are working on it all the time. The idea is that there are new signings on the agenda now, and we want to add more to this spine of the team."
