This time around the Reds don't have to play until the final qualifying round and this better suits their preparations for the new season.
"It's much better for us this time. We can prepare for the whole season now," said Rafael Benitez.
"Pre-season is really important and in England it is maybe more important when you play a lot of games throughout the season, often twice a week."
