Liverpool have scored eleven goals in their last three games while Pepe Reina has kept six successive clean sheets. Rafa Benitez believes recent results show his team's progress.

"We have better balance now. We have the balance between defence and attack, we are creating a lot of chances and we don't give too many chances away," said the Reds' boss.

"It was a good game. We created a lot of opportunities and scored three goals, but we could have scored more. In the first 15 minutes we had five chances, but we needed that second goal.

"Normally in these games you can make a mistake and they can get a draw. We planned to use Bellamy's pace today and he was always a threat running at defenders and creating spaces for other players."
