The Reds may have lost the first leg of their semi-final with Athletico Madrid 1-0 last night, but Benitez remains confident his team can turn things around at Anfield next Thursday.

"It could have been better, it could have been worse - and everything will still be decided at Anfield, where we have all the supporters behind us," said the boss.

"We proved the other day [against West Ham] that we can score goals. We have players who can score. We have to push, to attack - and I'm sure we'll score.

"I have a lot of confidence in Anfield, in our players at Anfield and in our fans.

"We've had a similar situation this season [against Lille and Benfica] and we won - and also in the past Liverpool have been losing 1-0 in a semi-final and still got to the final.

"There are no favourites. We know it will be difficult because 1-0 is always dangerous, but we have confidence."
