"We've scored in our last two home games, and I'd like to see the team scoring goals in Anfield whether it's in Europe or the Premiership. That's not important.

"What's important is if the team is playing well, creating opportunities. We're creating plenty of chances now in the Premiership. I hope to see the same in the Champions League.

"Why aren't we scoring? It's not easy to say. Perhaps we need to create yet more chances.

"Three of those five games were away from home. Against Benfica, both were tough games, but at home it was mentally more difficult for the players.

"We have more options now. We've got Kuyt, Crouch, Pennant, Mark Gonzalez in attack. The key is to find the balance between attack and defence."
