Benitez said: "At this moment he is our player for the next two years and there has been no deal done. I have been talking with Gerrard this morning, but only about the game against Blackburn. He knows how important this game is for the club and he told me he wants to do as well as possible."
He added: "I spoke with Stevie about football, about the set-pieces we want to do and the movement I want to see on the pitch against Blackburn. We don't have time to waste on rumours."
