The Reds have failed to get out of the group stage for the first time under Benitez and will only have UEFA Cup football to look forward to in the New Year. Tonight will therefore be the last Champions League game of the season and the boss wants to at least go out on a high note.
"We have to try to do our best in every game," Benitez told reporters yesterday.
"We are playing at Anfield, so we will try to win to finish as high as possible, get more points and maybe have an advantage later on."
