Rafa wants to win group

Benitez says Liverpool will face a tough team in the next round regardless of whether they finish first or second in their group but they will be aiming to top the table so they get to play the second leg of the last sixteen tie at Anfield.

"We are really pleased because we have already qualified - that is the main thing," said the boss in his pre-match press conference.

"I was watching the teams that we could play against in the next round, and it is not easy because you could play against Juventus, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Lyon or Valladolid, so it is very difficult to say if we want to finish first or second.

"The only advantage to finishing first is that we get to play at Anfield for the second leg of the next round. Clearly to play that game at Anfield is important because that extra motivation from our home fans could make the difference.

"Last season we needed to win almost every game around this time and it was a very difficult situation. Now it's easier for me as a manager and the question will be to motivate the players and to play a good game tomorrow - we will try to win."
