Ranieri raves over Rafa

The charismatic former Chelsea boss has dismissed claims that the Spaniard will adopt the same defensive tactics that proved so predictable under Gerard Houllier when he takes charge of the Reds starting at Tottenham next month.

Ranieri said: : "I think that he (Benitez) is a good coach and I think that Liverpool chose very well. I don't think he is too defensive. His style worked well at Valencia.

"His team is like an Italian team, they try to press everywhere, they try to get the ball and go on the counter-attack strongly. He did this very well at Valencia and I am sure, although he now has new players, that his philosophy is going to be the same.

"I think that it will be different from Houllier and he will try to press forward more together."
