Ready to settle the Spaniard score

Spanish inquisitions at the hands of Barcelona and Valencia in previous years led to defeats at Anfield, but the England defender is confident that the Reds will come out with a positive result come ten o'clock this evening.

Carragher said:"I remember seeing Deportivo play at Old Trafford a few years ago and they gave one of the best passing performances I can remember. United couldn't get hold of the ball and I can't remember many sides doing that at their place."

"We experienced it ourselves here against Barcelona and Valencia. The lesson we learned was you have to keep it. We were passed off the park and couldn't keep possession."

"Tonight, we know we can't let that happen. You can't even let their defenders knock the ball around at the back."

"We've got to close them down and get at them as much as possible, especially at Anfield, where if we get our fans behind us, we can really unsettle them," he added.
