Just days after it was announced that the entire under-19 side were to be released, the decision to dispense with the services of Foley-Sheridan will lead to more questions being asked of the club's failing academy system.
"Liverpool have agreed to release me immediately if an Eircom League club wants to take me before transfer deadline," said Foley-Sheridan.
"Returning to Dublin certainly wouldn't be a step backwards in my mind. Brian Kerr and Don Givens have capped players from the Eircom League before."
