Redknapp tips Owen for Euro success

The Portsmouth boss claims Owen's break will make him fresher at the end of the season and he could be England's star in the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal.

"Michael spending nearly three months out could prove a blessing in disguise for England come the finals," said Redknapp. "I would certainly put him up alongside any other striker at Euro 2004.

"Michael was knocked off his pedestal slightly when he was injured and Thierry Henry and Ruud van Nistelrooy were banging in the goals.
"But Henry and van Nistelrooy will have a hell of a lot of games towards the end of the season and, though Liverpool could have a fair few as well, the mid-season breather could end up invaluable."
