The former Liverpool skipper has been in fine form since his summer move to White Hart Lane.
"I am playing every week and looking forward immensely to returning to Anfield later this month for the game against Liverpool.
"I have so many happy memories of my time with the club and I can’t wait to run out in front of the Kop again, even though this time I will be playing against Liverpool," he said.
"Obviously the injury was a bad one and it is always at the back of my mind but that is where it stays."
