Reds aiming for 1,000 points

The Reds have earned 999 league points since the Premiership began in August 1992. A win or draw against Aston Villa at Villa Park in this season's opener will see Liverpool become only the fourth team to reach the 1,000 points milestone.

Manchester United (1,232), Arsenal (1,081) and Chelsea (1,013) are the other three teams to have earned over 1,000 Premiership points.
