Reds await Alonso news

Alonso was forced off at half time during yesterday's 2-0 FA Cup third round win over Preston with a foot injury. The Reds will have to wait a day or so for the swelling to go down before they can ascertain the seriousness of the injury.
"Unfortunately Xabi has had seven stitches in his instep," said assistant manager Sammy Lee.
"We do not know the full extent of the injury, apart from the fact he will be very sore tonight.
"Hopefully there will be no damage but we won't know for the next 24 or 48 hours."
