Reds beaten

Liverpool scored through Craig Bellamy after the returning Luis Garcia went past a couple of defenders and put a decent ball into the six yard box which Bellamy dispatched with ease, and through Garcia himself after some good link up play between Bellamy and Jermaine Pennant.

Unfortunately for the Reds, defender Jack Hobbs had a poor game and three mistakes from the captain of the reserves allowed Kaiserslauten to score three times.

Liverpool had the chance to go 3-2 up themselves five minutes from the end when Craig Bellamy got the ball in the Kaiserslauten area and laid off a clever ball to midfielder Pepe Reina -yes, that Pepe Reina, who showed why he's a goalkeeper not an outfield player by ballooning his shot yards over the bar.
