Southampton value Crouch, who scored 15 goals in 24 games under Harry Redknapp, at £7m and while Liverpool are unlikely to pay that much they will put in an increased bid.
Crouch had his wages halved when Southampton were relegated so is highly likely to push for a move to the Champions of Europe.
