While newspaper speculation continues to focus on what is expected to be a frenetic summer of transfer dealings at Anfield - El-Hadji Diouf is the latest to be linked with a cut-price summer exit - Houlier has called on all in the Red half of Merseyside to unite for a final push for Europe.

Houllier said: "Tomorrow's game is important for everyone who loves Liverpool Football Club. We just need to pull together for three more games. It's been a difficult season but there are just three games left and we have to be positive and support each other.

"Despite the problems we've had we're still in competition for a Champions League place. We just have to go for it.

"I hope the atmosphere inside Anfield will be like a European night. The players will respond to that."
