Reds concentrating only on the Brummies

Liverpool have a good chance of gaining ground in the race for a Champions League spot today with Everton playing Chelsea and Middlesbrough and Bolton playing each other. However, Benitez says the Reds are looking no further than their own game.

"If we want to reduce the gap we must win, we can't afford to worry about how other teams do and hope that they drop points. Our idea is simply to beat Birmingham. Our focus is on that and not other games," he says.

"I don't see this weekend has being any more significant than other weekends between now and the end of the season. It is all about getting the three points, no matter who we are playing or who other teams are playing."
