Reds confirm Benayoun interest

Liverpool were yesterday reported as having made a £1m bid for Benayoun, a bid West Ham called 'insulting'. Rick Parry confirmed the Reds were interested in the Israeli international but dismissed the Hammers' claims they'd only made a £1m bid.

"I can confirm we have made an approach for Yossi Benayoun, but the figures quoted are completely wrong. Other than that we don't want to say any more," said the Liverpool Chief Executive.
