Reds confirm Duff interest

Liverpool have tracked the Republic of Ireland international for well over a year and Houllier admits the chase will still go on if a correct price can be brokered.

Houllier, speaking to the club's official website, said: "Everyone knows about our interest in Damien Duff and about the fact that we made an offer for him last year. That offer was rejected and we were told he was not for sale.

"We are looking for someone for that position but I don't see many available at the moment for the right price.

"Damien still interests us - at the right price!"
