As reported on KopTalk.com last month, the Irish man is to be offered a new deal by the club in the hope that he will finally break through into the first team.
The player, who has written a column on Kop Talk since playing at youth level, is desperate to play for the club that brought him to England. His agent will meet with Liverpool chiefs in the near future.
