Reds cruise to friendly victory

One goal from Emile Heskey and a brace from Michael Owen gave Liverpool the win but it was the appearance of Harry Kewell that provided the highlight for the 1,500 Liverpool fans who'd travelled over for the game.

Playing on the right wing when he came on as a second half substitution, the Australian international showed why Gerard Houllier refused to give up on his transfer.

Houllier used his quota of substitutions to see as many of the first team squad as possible, changing 10 players at half time as he prepares his first eleven for the start of the new season.

Next up is Crewe Alexandra at Gresty Road on Saturday.
