Claims from French champions Lyon that they had been offered the 25-year-old England man had placed Heskey's future in some doubt - despite a fine pre-season in which the former Leicester City striker has struck six times in just seven appearances.
In a bid to halt unwanted speculation less then two weeks before the start of a new Premiership campaign, a club spokesman has tonight told Liverpool's official website that Heskey's future is secure.
A club spokesman, speaking to LFC.TV, simply said: "Emile is going nowhere."
