Reds deserved pen says Rafa

Rob Styles awarded the Reds a penalty that allowed Robbie Fowler to equalise Rob Hulse's opening goal on Saturday. However, Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock complained about the penalty and said it shouldn't have been awarded. Rafael Benitez disagreed.

"For me it was a clear penalty. Our player [Gerrard] said he felt contact so it was a penalty, simple as that. Also, if it was a penalty then the defender should have been shown a red card because he was the last man," said the Liverpool boss.

"But if you want to analyse the game for the penalty decision then you must look at a lot of the other incidents also. There were a lot of fouls and we lost two players in the first half."
