Reds draw

Andriy Voronin gave the Reds the lead after only six minutes when a fine move involving Lucas Levia, Ryan Babel and Yossi Benayoun found Voronin in space in the box. His first shot was a feeble effort but the Ukrainian hammered the rebound into the roof of the net.

Wisla Krakow drew level six minutes later when Diego Cavalieri was beaten from 12 yards. The Poles then saw a fine free kick cannon back of Cavalieri's post.

Rafael Benitez rang the changes at half time and Liverpool were able to carve out a few chances after the break. Voronin was played in by Benayoun soon after the interval but his shot was well saved by the goalkeeper.

Benayoun then thought he'd got a winner after Jermaine Pennant and Fabio Aurelio combined to set him up but his shot was cleared off the line.

Dirk Kuyt, Emiliano Insua and Aurelio all came close to winning it for the Reds but in the end the game was to finish all square.
