Reds face court battle

21-year-old Seb Clarke, a sports management student at Coventry University who suffers from cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus, insists that the Reds forced him to sit alongside home fans at Anfield, who he alleges subjected him to threatening abuse.

Clarke, who is launching his claim at Birmingham County court under the disability discrimination act, has spoken out about his experiences in the September 2002 league match.

"I was put at pitch level in front of the Liverpool fans," said Clarke.

"Understandably, during the game I started singing Birmingham City chants.

"I was told to shut up by supporters behind me. Then someone shouted: 'Shut up you crippled b*****d. You shouldn't have been allowed in'."

Liverpool FC are contesting Mr Clarke's claims.
