Reds given Basturk boost

The Scottish giants, who now look set to turn their attention to former Liverpool-target Hakin Yakin, have insisted that they will not be bidding for the highly-rated Bayer Leverkusen midfielder.

"We have not even enquired about this particular player," admitted a Celtic spokesman.

With Leverkusen still in dire financial straits, Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier will be expecting to acquire the player for little more then £3m.
