Reds have first option on Owen

Michael Owen is hoping he makes a big impression in Spain but if he does decide to leave Real Madrid he hope to return to Anfield.

Owen said: "I've just joined Real Madrid and my intention is to have a long and successful career here. "But if the time ever came in the future where I did go back to England, Liverpool would be the first club I'd look to.

"But that's a decision for a long time down the line."
