Reds held

Despite this being their first game in ten days the Reds played this match like a pre-season friendly. Liverpool had the better of the possession throughout the match but were unable to create any clear cut chances.

Steven Gerrard had a long range shot from 25 yards and Robbie Fowler almost won the game at the death with a last minute header but other than that neither goalkeeper had anything to do.

The only plus point is that both Bolton and Arsenal lost so at least Liverpool gained a point of those two.
