Djimi Traore's first goal for the Reds was cancelled out in the second half by Claudiu Raducanu, who found a gap in the defense and beat Jerzy Dudek in the Liverpool goal.
The away goal puts Gerard Houllier's side in the driving seat for the return leg at Anfield on 27th November.
