Reds help Wrexham

On the day that Wrexham finally came out of receivership, Liverpool gave the Welsh club a boost by waiving their match fee and allowed Wrexham to keep all the gate receipts from yesterday's friendly, totalling some £100,000.

This is the second successive season the Reds have waived their match fee to help keep Wrexham afloat. Liverpool will also be hiring the Racecourse for their reserve fixtures again this season.
