After having a £3m bid for the Israeli midfielder turned down last week, Rafael Benitez has now offered West Ham £4.5m. With Benayoun eager to sign for the Reds it looks likely the move will go through.
West Ham want to sign Craig Bellamy but don't want to pay the £12m Liverpool are demanding so they may offer cash plus Benayoun to secure the Wales international's signing instead. Provided the money offered was substantial the Reds would accept that offer.
