Reds increase lead

The Reds have now opened up a three point gap over second placed Chelsea following yesterday's games. Liverpool's 5-1 demolition of Newcastle coupled with the Londoners' 2-2 draw in their derby with Fulham saw the gap between the sides increase by two points.

The Reds' thumping of Newcastle also ate into Chelsea's better goal difference. Before yesterday's matches Chelsea's goal difference was +13 better than Liverpool's. It's now down to +9.
