Liverpool are to launch a new weekly magazine for supporters.

As revealed on KopTalk, the old match-day magazine has been dumped in favour of a traditional A5 style programe called "This Is Anfield".

Naturally that change will go down well with supporters as the A5 size is easier to carrier around but many fans were quite happy with the A4 match-day magazine so from August 13th a glossy 60-page weekly mag packed with exclusive interviews and features will be produced.

The club are teaming-up with the Trinity Mirror group (i.e. The Mirror, Liverpool Echo) but the club claim The Mirror and themselves will retain their own independence.

"We feel our fans are ready for the new weekly 'LFC' magazine which will give them a real insight into life at Anfield and Melwood," said Chief Exec Rick Parry.

"We also knew that some fans preferred the smaller programme format at the ground and a more regular magazine in the shops or via subscription, we can now offer our supporters the best of both worlds."

The well respected former Echo Sports Editor Ken Rogers will be the Executive Editor but fans will still have to endure Ric George who will be the 'senior soccer writer'. Unlike Rogers, there are mixed opinions in the fan base about George.

The 'LFC' magazine will cost £1.95 a week while 'This Is Anfield' programme will cost £2.50 on match-days.

A quarterly publication just for kids will also be put intoproduction.
