Reds legend backs Kewell signing

A'Court, like Kewell, was a renowned left-sided midfielder during his time with the Reds in the fifties, and he feels such a creative-minded player has always played a major part in the most successful Liverpool sides.

A'Court said: "I'm sure he will be a tremendous asset. Pretty well all Liverpool's best teams since the war have featured a top class outside left, and I'm sure the present side will find a bit more width makes a huge difference.

"I think you could say the left wing has always been a key part of Liverpool's many challenges. Judging from his record, Harry is in the same mould, and could be just what Liverpool need to kick-start a major revival."
