Lawrence, who was dubbed the 'flying pig' by the Anfield faithful during his time with the Reds in the sixties, feels that both Dudek and Kirkland are outstanding keepers - though he feels that Kirkland is the better all-round player.
Lawrence said: "Dudek is what I would call a good shot saver, whereas Kirkland is more of an all-round goalkeeper. I've no doubt that Chris Kirkland will be England goalkeeper one day. He's only young and if he comes back from this injury that he's got then I honestly believe he has the ability to become one of the games great keepers.
"As for Jerzy, I'm glad to see that see him back playing well after getting a bit of stick. It's fabulous and I'm so pleased for him, especially after his performance against Man United in the final.
"It's imperative for a club like Liverpool to have two goalkeepers of outstanding quality and in Kirkland and Dudek they certainly have two of the best."
