Reds linked with Aquilani

Rafael Benitez is said to be lining up the Roma midfielder as a replacement for Xabi Alonso. The Italian club could be looking to raise funds after their takeover talks with a Swiss conglomerate collapsed this week.

Aquilani will not be cheap but should cost less than the £30m Benitez wants from Real Madrid for Alonso.
