Reds linked with Benfica winger

The Portugese Football Federation have given the winger permission to have a medical at Anfield in a statement saying: "The Benfica forward Simao Sabrosa has been authorised to be temporarily absent from national team training to travel to Liverpool so he can undergo a medical."

Sabrosa was signed from Barcelona two years ago and is likely to cost Liverpool between £7-10m.
