The prolific striker is a favourite with the Barcelona fans but Barca president Joan Laporta says the club may have to sell him if he does not agree to take a wage cut. This has alerted Liverpool and Newcastle to the possibility of a move.

Saviola has refused to take a pay-cut and this has led to rumours of a swap deal with Milan Baros going the other way.
