Phil Thompson watched Senderos in action for the Swiss Under 21 side who played Ireland recently and was said to have been impressed with what he saw.
"Philippe is a hard worker who will give 100% in every game," said his father, Julian. "When he comes home from school he does his homework and then rushes off to the pitch to improve his already great technical skills.
"He is just like that on the pitch - the perfect player for the Premiership."
