Liverpool showing some interest in Overmars
The former Arsenal winger has been linked with the Reds for weeks after his agent started putting the feelers out. Barcelona deny he's for sale despite the fact that agents representing them are speaking to several British clubs regarding his availability and that includes Liverpool.

Talks are not at an advanced stage nor has any bid been tabled as yet. Further developments are however expected between now and the summer.

Our next Insider update, scheduled for Wednesday of this week will carry an in-depth report on this news item along with details of a planned scouting trip on the homeland next weekend and some whispers that are coming out of Elland Road.

Meanwhile Overmars has been speaking about Liverpool prior to this week's game between Barcelona and the Reds.

"Liverpool are a team I really admire," said Overmars, who insists he wants to remain at Barca.

"They've got a superb squad of players, all of whom have great qualities which complement each other. That leads to a fantastic unit.

"Guys like Michael Owen and Emile Heskey are fantastic and dangerous strikers.

"Another player I admire there is my old friend Jari Litmanen. I actually saw him the other week when Holland played England. He came along to watch and it was great to link up with him and some of the other guys who played with us at Ajax."
