Reds make new Kuyt bid

Liverpool are close to agreeing a £10m transfer for Dutch striker Dirk Kuyt. The Reds initally offered Feyenoord £6m plus Jan Kromkamp and Jerzy Dudek for Kuyt but that offer was rejected by the Dutch side who wanted a cash only deal.

After selling Djimi Traore to Charlton, Liverpool have been able to match Feyenoord's £10m valuation and Rafael Benitez is hopeful of having Kuyt on board in time for the start of the league season.
