Reds must recreate atmosphere

Building work on Liverpool's new stadium is due to start in the next few weeks following the takeover of the club by George Gillett and Tom Hicks. Rafa Benitez says the most important part of the new ground will be the atmosphere created by the fans.

"We need to make sure we put the atmosphere of Anfield in the stadium, and we will try to do this. The new owners understand how important the atmosphere is," said the Reds' boss.

"It's important that we're getting this new stadium, because if you have more people watching you each game, that means more money. I think it will be very positive.

"We need more money to compete with the other teams, and if you have 15,000 more supporters watching you every week for a year or 10 years, that makes a big difference."
