Reports today suggest that Gerard Houllier isn't prepared to offer Blackburn Rovers more than £15million in cash for winger Damien Duff.

The boss is however prepared to negotiate the fee by asking Souness if he is interested in any fringe Liverpool players that could be thrown in as part of any deal.

Djimi Traore was a Rovers target last season and only recently the player said he wished he could have joined them so you can expect his Anfield career to come to an end at some point ala Song and Camara.

Duff reports back to Rovers tomorrow for pre-season training and his future will naturally be discussed.

Rovers Chief Executive John Williams is hoping that Duff won't be tempted away.

"Despite speculation over the weekend, we are still hopeful that Damien will be playing for Rovers next season and we will be talking to him on his return," said Williams.

Liverpool and Manchester United have so far refused to comment on the speculation that they have had bids accepted.
