Reds ready for Chelsea

Crouch scored twice as Liverpool beat Watford 3-0 on Saturday and the England striker believes the comfortable win sets the Reds up nicely for this weekend's game at home to Chelsea.

"A lot of things have been said during the week when we've had a couple of losses, so it was nice to put that right," said Crouch.

"Obviously we have Chelsea next week, which gives us a chance to close the gap even more and hopefully that's a chance we can take. Whether we can catch them is a difficult question. We just have to concentrate on our own form and hope they slip up and we can get there or thereabouts. If we can beat Chelsea that will close that gap.

"Chelsea have obviously set the standard for the last couple of years by winning the league but Manchester United this year look very close to them. For ourselves, I think we are just behind them at the moment - their consistency seems to be so good and I think that's what we have to get to. I'm sure we can."
