"We have had a beauty parade of financial advisers," said the club's finance director Les Wheatley.

"We saw the last of them on Friday afternoon and we hope to make a decision about one of these next week.

"We have asked them to advise us on the business case for the stadium and the best way to raise the money.

"We have in mind £75m for the stadium. We are not looking to raise additional money for the squad on the back of the stadium."

Wheatley also explained that a £75 million loan would cost the club £5 million per year to pay back, yet gate receipts alone for the 60,000 seater stadium would generate an extra £10-£14 million per season.
